Course Description

This course will study the field of pastoral counseling as a response of the contemporary church to significant changes in the society. Attention will be given to relation of pastoral counseling to a general field of mental health services, various models of counseling ministry, its biblical, theoretical, and theological basis, qualifications, and skills of pastoral counselors, and general understanding of most common personal problems and disorders. Special attention will be given to the need and practical challenges of integrating pastoral counseling with local church ministry.
