This course develops a biblical theology of religions with a focus on understanding Islam and engaging Muslims graciously. A biblical theological approach is used to formulate an evangelical exclusivist view while evaluating inclusivist and pluralist positions. Islam is presented as the primary test case and students are invited to develop a more robust Christian theology of Islam to help Christians understand, evaluate and respond to Muslims’ beliefs and practices in a more nuanced way than is often evident. It also calls students to pray for spiritual wisdom and insight to graciously and thoughtfully engage Muslims.
